It was a great day as the Bachchan family took to the podium to republish and present Hrivansh Rai Bachchan’s Madhushala - The House of Wine'. This event was in order to commemorate his 102nd birth anniversary.
Earlier the book was published in 1933-34, but now the family released it in a new avatar. The book now contains original poems along with their English translation, beautified with illustrations of paintings done by Namrita Bachchan, daughter of Amitabh's brother Ajitabh.
Amitabh revealed that this book was his wife Jaya Bachchan's idea. He mentioned,
"It was Jaya's idea that if the book is compiled, since today’s generation doesn’t really enjoy reading Hindi poems, which are indeed a part of our rich cultural heritage.” The new book has one page of the original poems and in the corresponding page the translation of the same.
Have a look as every member of the Bachchan family attended the auspicious occasion and indeed made the late noted poet proud. And how nicely dressed they were just to compliment the entire feeling of nostalgia!
